The Taroona Ex-Services Club, formerly known as the Taroona Ex-Servicemen's Club, was formed in 1947. The inaugural meeting was held in March of that year and the first elected president was Harold Suckling. ;;Records of Club and Committee meetings are available from 1949, when a new consittution established a committee with a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and five committee members. The Committee met regularily at the homes of Committee members.;;The Club met in the former Taroona Hall, then at the Taroona Hotel until 1954 when it completed a purpose-built clubhouse in Jenkins Street on land provided by the Hinsby family.;;The Club has served as an organisation to support regular, reserve and ex-service men and women, and also allied forces and merchant seamen. It has also worked to sponsor local community activities in general. One key local annual activity was giving out treats to Children from a Christmas Truck.;;
