Aubrey Brigg was born in Queensland and moved to Tasmania c. 1950 where he found employment as a draftsman at the Hydro Electric Commission in Hobart. For much of his working life he was heavily involved in industrial issues, serving on the committee (and later as Chairman) of the Tasmanian Division of the Association of Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and Draughtsmen of Australia, representing the interests of the HEC members. He was also a member of the Tasmanian Public Service Association (TPSA) from 1951 to c.1973 and elected TPSA Councillor 1960-1962, Chairman Board of Directors of the Public Service Co-operative Housing Association Ltd and foundation member of the Taspower Credit Union. He was a committed Anglican, held a number of leadership positions in the Anglican Church and excelled at Archery. He was married to Erna Brigg and had two children.
