John Walker was a miller, brewery owner, merchant and politician who arrived in Hobart Town aboard the Heroine in 1822. He became Managing Director of the Derwent Bank and a local Director of the Bank of Australasia and Bank of Van Diemen's' Land and was a member of the Legislative Council.
