Description:
Ernest George Foster was born at Avoca, Tasmania to Christopher Robert Foster and his wife Mary Ann (nee Englebert). ;;In 1900 he enlisted with the NSW Mounted Bushmen's Contingent and served with them in the Boer War, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. After the war he took up farming in Orange Free State, South Africa where he lived for 24 years. ;;In 1926 he returned to Australia and became a dairy farmer. He died at Gosford, NSW in 1954.
