Born in Victoria, she lived in Tasmania from 1892 until her death in 1956. ;;She was a keen naturalist, member of the Royal Society of Tasmania and foundation member of the Royal Australasian Ornithologists' Union.;;A large number of her Tasmanian scientific and children's publications can be found in the Libraries Tasmania collection. ;;
