The North Western Tennis Union operated in Tasmania from at least the 1920s to around 2011. It was part of the broader Tasmanian Lawn Tennis Association. The Union coordinated the activities of the over 18 lawn tennis clubs operating across the north west of Tasmania. Eight to nine general meetings were held by the Union throughout each year, with at least 10 delegates from clubs needed for a quorum. Events held by the Union included the Peters Ice Cream Shield, Player of the Year presentations, an annual dinner, and also at times issuing a biannual newsletter. Presidents of the club included T M Crisp, Murray Marsh, A J Walters, Rob Vernon, Doug Robinson, and Peter Mudford. The Union changed its name to 'Tennis North West' in February 1997. In 2019 the Union was re-established as the 'North West Tennis League'.
