An Association established to control and encourage Lawn Tennis in Tasmania. Responsibilities of the Association included arranging competitions, liaising across member branches and associations, and the promotion of Tennis within Tasmania. The Association was based in Hobart with members consisting of officers, life members, and members of branch associations. As at 1957 when the constitution was updated, branch associations included The Southern Tasmanian Lawn Tennis Association, the Northern Tasmanian Lawn Tennis Association, and the North-West Lawn Tennis Union. The Association was managed by a Committee consisting of the President, six delegates from the Southern Tasmanian Lawn Tennis Association, four delegates from the Northern Tasmanian Lawn Tennis Association, and three delegates from the North-West Lawn Tennis Union. The Tasmanian Lawn Tennis Association operated under the laws of the game adopted by the Lawn Tennis Association of Australia. The Association restructured in August 1992 with a change in name to 'Tennis Tasmania'.
