George Reynold Collins (1794-1870), son of Lieutenant-Governor David Collins and Ann Yates. George R. Collins became a midshipman in the navy and had served five years by March 1812 when he petitioned the Colonial Office for a free passage to Hobart to rejoin his family and adjust his father's affairs.
