Established by Eve Farkas who advertised in the Mercury newspaper for interested people to form an organisation to support adults with physical disabilities. The group leased a house in Creek Road as its headquarters which was officially opened on 2 July 1966. It also housed a workshop offering people with disabilities work opportunities - this included making items for sale and a typing service. The latter was also known as Tadpac industries.;;The Tasmanian Association of Disabled Persons ceased operation in 2006.
