The exact starting date of the Association of Senior Citizens Clubs of Tasmania is unknown. It was active at least from 1974, publishing the "Golden Age News", a periodical for older people in the Tasmanian community.;;The records held in the Tasmanian Archives indicate that its headquarters was in Hobart and that there were regional committees for the Southern, Northern and North-Western areas. The objectives of the Association were to promote and work for the general good of all elderly people in the community and to undertake any action that would improve the facilities and services of its member clubs. Membership was open to any Senior Citizen Club in the State.
