The Deloraine District Amateur Cycling Club's aims were to "further the interests of amateur cycling in North-Western Tasmania, and to promote good comradeship amongst its members". It was affiliated with the Tasmanian Amateur Cyclists Union and had formed in 1903.;;It went into a short recess from September 1950 until January 1953, due to new AFCC [Australian Federation of Cycling Clubs?] rules which it felt was not financially feasible for small clubs. From January 1953 the club affiliated with the League of Tasmanian Wheelmen.;;The Deloraine Athletics Club also had a cycling section (formed 1935), indicating how popular the sport had become.;;
