Cecil Percy Ray, aged 90, was buried at Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Hobart on the 20 July 1974. His last residence was Lindisfarne. He appears to have been unmarried. Probate records show he died intestate on the 17 July, 1974; his last address being 20 Lincoln Street, Lindisfarne. He was born in Hobart to Francis Ray and Ada Louisa Ray (nee Bromfield) in 1884. Siblings were Francis Nicholas Ray(born 1881, died in infancy Jan 18 1882 aged 5 months; Arthur Leslie Ray born 1882 and died in infancy Mar 3 1883; Lila Ada Ray born 1886 and Clarence Walter Ray born in 1890. 

His father Francis Ray died on April 11, 1921 aged 77 years and his mother, Ada Louisa Ray died in her 82nd year on May 11, 1941 at her residence Lindisfarne. They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1930 and on the 17 Nov 1931 p1 the following Family notice appeared in the Mercury newspaper "Ray - Bromfield - On Nov 17, 1880 at St David's Cathederal by the Rev. Thomas Jones, Francis Ray, eldest son of the late N. Ray to Ada Louisa Bromfield, second daughter of the late T. H. Bromfield, Tasmanian Academy, Hobart".
C. P. Ray appears to have worked as a photographer for the Mercury newspaper. his images appear in both the Illustrated Tasmanian Mail and the Weekly Courier newspapers.
