George Leo Doyle was born in Hobart on the 12th of July 1902. He became a member of the legal firm of Page, Hodgman. Seager and Doyle, and was formerly a lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Tasmania. In 1937 he was elected as a Nationalist candidate in Franklin and became president of the State' council of the United Australia and Nationalist organisation. He died in office on the 26th of October 1940.
