Wilfred Hudspeth, son of Francis and Lucy Hudspeth (nee Cogle), was a lawyer and amateur historian. He was a member of the Royal Society, a trustee of the Tasmanian Museum and participant in the cultural life of Tasmania. He researched and wrote extensively on various aspects of Tasmanian history.
