Rev Donald Burns Blackwood was born 3 November 1884 to Archibald Charles and Emma Elizabeth Macbeth Blackwood in the district of Franklin. He was educated at the University of Tasmania then ordained deacon at St John's Church of England, Launceston in 1906. He served as curate of St Mark's Deloraine from 1906 - 1908 and afterwards, on the 27 April 1910, he marrried Miss Ida Pitt, daughter of an Ouse farmer and descendant of an early settler Richard Pitt, at that church.;;;;After serving in several Tasmanian parishes including rector of Latrobe, principal of St. Wilfred's Theological College, Cressy and Holy Trinity Church, Hobart for 18 years from 1924 - 1942; he was appointed 3rd Bishop of Gippsland from 1942 - 1955.;;;;He served four years active service with the first AIF in Egypt and on the Somme from 1915 - 1919; and received the Military Cross and a mention in despatches. He was rector of Sorell when he was first appointed a chaplain of the Forces in 1912, and sailed with a Tasmanian contingent for the Middle East in 1915. He maintained a close connection with the RSL and war veterans for the rest of his life.;;;;He retired to Deloraine, where he died June 25, 1967.;;;;(See also NG1246 - Pitt Family).;;;;Roma Cameron Walker, daughter of Huon Cameron Walker, married Graham Gordon Blackwood, son of Bishop Blackwood at Holy Trinity on 10 January 1946. They had a daughter, Mary (15 June 1950 - ). Aunt Ethel Julia Nairn, daughter of William Edward Nairn, married Gamaliel Henry Butler on 30 April 1884.;;;;John Cameron (1806 - 28 June 1866) married Eliza Milburn Snell 25 February 1837 in England. Of the 15 pregnancies that Eliza had, two children (Emma Jane and Kate) survived childbirth. John Cameron owned much real estate. In his will he required his trustees to pay the sons of his nephews and nieces living at the time of his death and bearing "Cameron" as one of their names an annuity of 50 pounds.;;;;Emma married Robert Walker, later Mayor of Hobart and had 3 sons, Leslie, Cecil and Alan. Kate married Alfred William Edward Harvey.;;;;;;;;
