Henry Hunter (1832-1892) commenced practice as an architect in Hobart in 1856, and was involved in the design and construction of numerous public and ecclesiastical buildings. In partnership with his son Walter, he moved to Brisbane in 1888.;;In 1999 the collection of architectural plans and drawings from the practice of Henry Hunter and his successors was purchased for the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.;;Architectural plans and drawings that Hunter did for the Government can be found among the records of the former Public Works Department (PWD266) and others have been transferred to Archives as part of Church deposits - e.g. plans for the Congregational church at Geeveston (NS1389) and St Thomas's at Tea Tree.(NS751)
