Jean and Alan Walker lived at Lindisfarne. Alan was a well known Hobart Angler who for sometime prior to his death had been confined to a wheel chair. During those years he and Jean wrote printed and published a monthly publication connected with Trout Fishing called The Anglers Forum.;;Through her husbands dedication to angling Jean became interested in the history of the Tasmanian Fisheries and was made a life member of the Tasmanian Licenced Anglers Association for her services to angling. She was the first women for 70 years to be distinguished in this way.;;Her skills as a researcher go beyond angling and for a number of years she was involved in investigating some heraldic murals in the Bendigo Town Hall. These are thought to be the work of her grandfather Joseph McDuff. In later yers Jean became involved with the Red Crossas Officer in charge of the second hand books and organiser of the annual book fair for the Opportunity shop.
