Description:
The Anglican Parish of Dorset was formed in 1997 following a merger of the Ringarooma / Derby Parish (see NG1397) and the Scottsdale Parish (see NG1703). The Anglican Parish of Dorset had congregations at St Barnabas' Church (Scottsdale), St Mark's Church (Bridport) and St John's Church (Branxholm). Dorset Mission included Ringarooma, Gladstone, Branxholm, Boobyalla, Moorina Scottsdale, and 'Brothers Home Mine' as Derby was previously known (Bros Home). Outcentres included Christ Church (Ringarooma, 1884-6 July 1997), All Saints' Church (Gladstone, ~1906-20 July 1997), St Paul's Church (Derby,1893-13 July 1997), Church of the Ascension (Winnaleah, 1924-27 July 1997), Boobyalla and Moorina. St Mark's at Bridport conducted its last service in September 2020.
