Series notes:
Notebooks, an album, and loose papers. The fifteen 'pocketbook' notebooks (around 10cmx15cm) contain pencil, and occasionally ink or watercolour, sketches of Hobart scenes. Many pages in the notebooks are not used, however several of the sketches show high skill. Also included are notes and recipes for use in cabinet making. The series gives an insight into the working life and abilities of a craft-person in the late 1800s.
