Series notes:
Photocopies and transcripts created in 1967 by the State Library from original manuscripts. The key manuscript 'Richard Copping Reminiscences' has since been donated to the State Archives (NS6295). The 1967 photocopy is NS171/1/1, with typescripts of this item at NS171/1/2, NS171/1/5, and NS171/1/6.
Other manuscripts were copied, but as at 2018 the originals had not been located. These include 'Richard Copping Journals' (Isabella and Bella Mary voyages), and 'Remarks aboard the Barque Caroline under Captain Tregurtha'.
No transcript is available of the Isabella/Bella Mary journals. A transcript of the Caroline voyage, including provenance and conjecture re the author, is published in Dan Sprod's 1980 work 'The Tregurtha log'.
