Series notes:
These letters are copies of correspondence given to Viti Allardyce (Mrs A. Mabutt) by her step-mother. She donated them to the Scott Polar Research Institute, Cambridge, England, who made copies which later came into the possession of Viti's nephew Christopher Butler, Tasmania. The material includes information on whaling, shipwrecks, the conflict in World War 1. (Series includes correspondence relating to the donation of the records to the Scott Polar Research Institute in 1977).
