Series notes:
A set of lantern slides (glass) collected by E R Pretyman. Many of the images have been identified as the work of Tasmanian photographer Nat Oldham. Some of the images are reproductions of images commonly used in lantern slide presentations (such as earlt images of Tasmania). The boxes used by Pretyman to store the slides have been retained (see NS2325/1/278) as an example of the way the slides would have been transported for lantern slide shows.
