Series notes:
A set of posters advertising performances of the 'Hobart Amateur Minstrels' at the Kings Theatre, Collins Street, Hobart. Three groups appear to have performed under the name 'The Hobart Amateur Minstrels' - one in 1872, another in 1913, and a final group in 1916. Performers in 1913 varied from performance to performance but at times included - ventriloquist Harry Harrison, magician Mr Selwyn, comedians Wil Powers, E Pross, Will Bishop, ballet dancer Vera McKillop, balladists May Wexford and Lottie Wiggins, dancers/singers Mr P Powers and J Herpeck, singer H Ward, shooter Lieutenant McDonald, musician Millie Hill, singer Flo Dolan. The Jordene family was part of the Amateur Minstrels group, with Jack Jordene performing and the 'Jordene Trio'.
