Series notes:
A card index compiled by Geoffrey Thomas Stillwell, while a staff member of the Archives Section of the State Library of Tasmania in the 1960's, of entries from the 'Hobart Town Courier' newspaper, relating to birth, death and marriage notices appearing in that newspaper.
The index also contains some entries from the 'Launceston Examiner', 'Mercury 'and 'Daily Telegraph' up to the year c1908, however the dominant entreis cover the publication dates of the 'Hobart Town Courier' from 20 October 1827 - 31 May 1859. Entries from the other newspapers are not comprehensive.
