A 50 year closure applies to all baptisms, burials and marriages registers, except for individuals requiring access to their own record.

Records are owned by the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania.

Tasmanian Archives can authorise publication on behalf of the Diocese for open and copyright-free records. Any other requests for publication should be directed to the Diocese for approval.
Series notes:
In 1890 until 1918 St George's Parish operated a Mission at the Queenborough School house which was subsequently consecrated as St Matthias Church. In 1918 the Mariners' (or Seafarers) Church at Franklin Wharf, Hobart was taken apart, rebuilt in Sandy Bay, and consecrated as St Peter's Church. St Peter's became a separate parish in July 1951.
