Series notes:
Standing Committee was established following Union as a result of a decision of the Inaugral Assembly of the Uniting Church. Boundaries of Synod, By-laws for each Synod, and other administrative processes that were put in place were those recommended by a Joint Planning Committee.
Transition from Standing Committee to Council of Synod took effect from the end of December 1998. The first meeting of the new Council took place on 13 Feb 1999
