Series notes:
In 1905 the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company (MLMRC) purchased mining leases from the Blue Tier Amalgamated Tin Company and explored the possibility of mining tin in the Blue Tier area. The manager of this project was Luke Williams, a mine engineer. Most of this series is his correspondecne with the MLMRC General Manager, Secretary and Board, keeping them well informed of progess. By Jun 1907 it was obvious to the Company that the venture would not be a commercial success and closed down operations, selling off its leases and water rights.
