This is an index created by Bernard Walker and later annotated by his son, Jim Walker. It contains the name of the client, the address (brief, sometimes just street or suburb), file number and plan number. While the dates and details are not recorded, the index provides a unique record into the architectural and design work of Walker throughout his career.

The files and plans have not survived.

It is possible that Walker's architectural records were culled when relocating from 115 Macquarie Street to 5 Elizabeth Street in 1947, then to his residence,13 Parliament Street, in 1955. Cabinets of plans were accidentally destroyed by fire at his Sandy Bay residence in the 1960s.

Plans for Walker's works may also be found is the series of local government building applications, such as AE417 (Hobart), AE819 (Glenorchy) and Clarence (AD791).
