Series notes:
Dams and Hydro infrastructure in the Central Highlands feature in a large number of the McCarthy films. Miena and surrounds are extensively recorded, as Lindsay McCarthy was, for a period of time, the licensee of the Miena Hotel. These amateur films also document family occasions and domestic settings in the 1960s and 1970s, including the building of a holiday home on the Tasman Peninsula and a family home at 65 Banyalla Street Rokeby.

Lindsay also filmed the Tasman Bridge after the Lake Illawarra collision, recorded the re-building and the ferry craft crossing the River Derwent at this time. He also spent time recording scenes around Hobart and elsewhere in Tasmania

For more details, see the individual item descriptions.

The films are in colour and there is no sound.
