In March 1987 the Montpelier Foundry officially asked the Tasmanian Government for an injection of funds into their company, so that the foundry could continue manufacturing water fittings and industrial castings for both Tasmanian and interstate puchasers.

This file contains a Proposal Summary, an Historical Background section and a summation of their track record in Industrial Relations. It was authored by Keith Morris (former manager of the Montpelier Foundry), Arthur Harper (Federated Ironworkers Association), John Forster (Australasian Society of Engineers) and Geoff Adams (from the Amalgamated Metal Workers Union).

These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives
