How to Use:
Copyright in the recordings (NS584; NS404) and transcripts (NS568, NS6850) rests with the donor. Copyright will pass to the State Archivist on 1/1/2040 as per agreement with the donor.

By agreement, the State Archivist can authorise publication of records in NS404, NS568, NS584, and NS6850, with a requirement that any publication include acknowledgement to Nancie Hewitt as the creator of the transcripts and recordings.
Series notes:
Audio of Frank Hood reading from his diaries (originals in series NS4260), recorded by Nancie Hewitt. Nancie had Frank read the diaries aloud due to the handwriting in the diaries being quite difficult to decipher. The series includes five tapes that cover a brief period of his diaries, April 1920 to April 1922. Transcripts of the audio created by Nancie can be found within series NS568. Nancie's transcript (series NS568) also covers Frank adlibbing as he reminisces to Nancy, as well as him reading from diary entries from 1919 to 1975. It is likely that were many more tapes created by Nancie to create the transcript than the five located in this series (and additional one located in series NS404).

This series also includes Nancie Hewitt reading letters and poetry from Charles A Hood. Typescripts of these items are also included in NS568.

This series was originally listed as five items, with each being identified as 'Tapes of Reminiscences of Frank Hood, made for Alie Sypkes, Curriculum Branch, Education Department (1/4 inch reel to reel tape (ARR1/4")). Four of the tapes have been renamed, with the fifth returned to the depositor as it was not part of this set.

These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives
