Series notes:
A range of family papers, notes, and photographs collated by Claudia M Dean (nee Peggy White).

Claudia M's parents were Claudia Florence Westfield Field (1897-1980) and Donald MacLean White. Claudia F, Donald M and their two children, Claudia M and Donald Francis Enfield White (b.1922), lived in Devonport. Donald F White served as a pilot with the RAAF Lancaster bombers during WWII. He married Alice Alexandra Goodfellow in 1950 before moving to NSW. Claudia M married Adrian Dean in 1953.

Donald M White was a trade teacher at Wesley Vale Area School. During this time he collected newspaper clippings, photographs, and plans related to the school (see items 6, 7, 8, and 32).

This series includes a file (NS602/1/31) pertaining to Roy William Peters (b.1895). Roy, a fitter and turner from Launceston, enlisted in the Australian Field Artillery Force in 1914. Roy sent Claudia F photographs of training in Egypt, portraits of himself in uniform, and a postcard from Scotland in 1918. Roy was wounded in action in France in 1918 and returned to Australia. He had achieved the rank of Corporal. Roy married Margaret Constance Guy in Launceston in 1923.

This series also includes a photo album compiled by Claudia F White. Copies of some of the photographs in the album can be found in the genealogical research folders compiled by Claudia M Dean.

These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives
System of Arrangement:
A single number has been given to the items by Archives. Much of Claudia Dean's research crossed over a number of families. To locate related records, or originals of certain photographs/documents, it is recommended that the other family research undertaken by Claudia M Dean be examined. Items NS602/1/31 (photographs of Wesley Vale Area School) and NS602/1/33 (photo album) have been listed on pdf documents to assist access.
