This was a service introduced into the Cathedral with the support of the Dean, the Very Reverend Harlan Butterley. It was a more informal, people-led congregation unique amongst Cathedral congregations in Australia at the time. A committee of members was elected every 6 months to promote outreach and to co-ordinate the congregation's program. It began in 1974 and ran to 1980.
