Series notes:
Aerial images of fire affected areas of Southwest Tasmania. The fires had been burning since December 2018 after starting from the lightning strikes of dry thunderstorms. Parts of Tasmania had their hottest and driest months on record, which enabled the fires to spread to significant sizes and threaten and damage some of the jewels of Tasmania's wilderness. Places like Lake Rhona/Denison Range, the Gordon River, Mount Anne, and the Eastern and Western Arthur Ranges were all affected. This collection of images shows three such fire areas, the Gell River Fire, Celtic Hill Fire, and the Riveaux Road Fire.
