Series notes:
An interview undertaken by Roger Penny with Professor Bill Jackson on the 11th of October 2001. The interview was part of a project funded by the State Library of Tasmania. While the interview focuses on his scientific work, including discussions of forestry, fire management, and the history of Tasmania's ecology, topics covered also include Jackson's childhood, army experience, studies, and involvement with the Tasmanian Walking Club. The interview also contains information on the effect of fire on Tasmania and Australia including Aboriginal vegetation control.
