These are letters written by Captain Thomas Lidbetter to his daughter, Amy, from Melbourne, Victoria then from Bombay in India. The later letters are addressed to Amy and her husband Louis Shoobridge.
These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives
System of Arrangement:
The letters were originally folded into bundles and tied with cotton, presumably by Amy. For preservation and access reasons, the letters have been placed into acid free folders and interleaved with archival paper. The exact order has been maintained.
