Series notes:
Research notes and copies of original documents compiled by Claudia M Dean in the 1980s, 90s and 2000s. The Dean family connection to the McCormack/Goodwin family came through Mary (nee McCormack, b.1856) and William Goodwin (1848-1926). Mary and William married in Victoria in 1872 and had a son James (1873-1935). James married Ellen Theresa Hartzer (1878-1912) in Victoria in 1898 . James and Ellen's daughter, Vera Goodwin (1906-1993), married Frank Thistleton Reay Dean (NG1950) in 1928. The Singleton connection comes through the parents of Ellen Theresa Hartzer - Henry Singleton (1826-1889), and Bridget Calvin (c.1837-1910).
