Series notes:
A range of MacLean family papers, notes, and photographs collated by Claudia M Dean. The Dean connection to the MacLeans is through Claudia's grandmother Marian White (nee MacClean) (1857-1941). Edwin Francis White married Marian MacLean in 1892. Marian MacLean was the daughter of Donald and Margaret MacLean who emigrated to Tasmania from Scotland after the death of Donald's mother in 1857. They travelled with seven of Don's nine siblings and his father Donald Snr. Edwin and Marian had two sons - Eric Edwin (1898-1899) and Donald MacLean White (1895-1977).

A single number has been given to the items by Archives. Much of Claudia Dean's research crossed over a number of families. To locate related records, or originals of certain photographs/documents, it is recommended that the other family research undertaken by Claudia M Dean be examined.
