Series notes:
Included in this series are a range of plans bound into two groups of the surveyed alignment of the railway from Queenstown to Strahan. The engineer, F.A. Cutten, was a New Zealander who was working on behalf of the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company in the 1890s. Plans such as NS726/2/1 include planimetric views of the railway line divided into 1 mile lengths with a corresponding topographic long section; over 1200 cross-sections at roughly 1 chain intervals along the line presented on several sheets; and type drawings representing proposed construction methods for a variety of structures (bridges, earth embankments, fills).

These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives
