Series notes:
This series consists of weekly, fortnightly and staff notices produced by the various government bodies (state and federal) responsible for the running of government railways in Tasmania. The notices are produced as bulletins for the use of railways staff. Items of interest listed on the notices include such matters as: "Passes Lost", "Missing Goods and Parcels", "Alterations and Additions to Rolling Stock", "Locomotive Traffic and Way and Works Operation", "Railways Institute", "Staff Matters" and "General". The notices are in effect a weekly or fortnightly summary of events and developments within the railways and their relevance to railways staff.
This series comprises notices dating from 1947 onwards but it would appear that the series began long before this. The index (P2237) refers to notices from at least 1937.
