Series notes:
This series consists of volumes of the Derailment register of the Tasmanian Government Railways and its successor agencies. It has been recorded in foolscap sized exercise books, each volume spanning approximately 10 years. Information recorded in the Register include the date, number (single number recurring each year), particulars of incident, cause and branch accepting responsibility and the date inquiries were finalised. Some of the volumes contain ancillary information such as copies of the regulations regarding reporting of derailments, tallies of derailments over long periods and notes regarding related files.
