Series notes:
This series consists of AN assets register (more accurately described as a stores and equipment book) maintained at the St Mary's railway station.
The extant register is in the form of a single hard-cover volume for the years 1892-1911. Only 25 pages of the volume contain entries. Most pages cover a specific building or area of the railway station under headings such as: 'Booking Office'; 'Waiting Room'; 'Platforms'; 'Goods Shed' and 'Eastbourne'. Beneath these headings, equipment held has been listed. For example; chairs, bale hooks, coal buckets, spitoons and oil cans.
The other two volumes are from a stock-take in 1984/85.
