Series notes:
This series consists of a subject index to the incoming correspondence to the Tasmanian Government Railways. Correspondence was entered in subject categories within the registers. The registers for the period 1918 - 1944 are in Sands and McDougall binders with loose leaves entitled Tasmanian Government Railways -Record Book. Each page is folio numbered and each letter of the alphabet is preceded by an index to the folios within that letter. There are thumb tabs for each letter of the alphabet. The pages are printed with columns headed: date, previous [file] number, record number [refers to files within TC10 or P1200], letter [usually the first letter of the key word in the correspondence title] and subject.
