Series notes:
This series consists of surveyors' diagrams and plans of parts of the Tasmanian Railway system and adjoining lots. It documents the lots belonging to the Railway and adjoining owners when parts of the railway holdings (mainly land and property) were closed and leased or sold.

The correspondence portion of the series records the lease of land and disposal of railway parts and equipment for Apsley Line from 5th September 1947 to 29th January 1958.Lines covered by this series include Aspley, Marrawah, Nietta, Sheffield, Melrose, Ulverstone Wharf, and Irishtown Trowutta. The series also includes a Westbury Rural Fires District maps showing all lots within the district.

The majority of this series is cartographic material that is A4, foolscap, or folded to fit within standard A4 folders. Formats include photostats, diagrams, plans, one topographic map, a series of survey maps, typed A4 documents, folders, notebooks, one plastic spiral bound book of station drawings, and twenty seven photographs
