Records the mortgage number, name and address and occupation of mortgagor, amount of mortgage and details of property mortgaged, dates of mortgage, registration and re-registration of satisfaction.

The State Advances on Land Act 1898 had created Commissioners empowered to raise money through mortgage bonds and lend the proceeds to farmers. This was repealed by the 1907 Act which established the Agricultural Bank of Tasmania. Both the 1907 and 1935 Acts incorporated sections of the Bills of Sale Act and required registration of the mortgages with the Registrar of the Supreme Court.

This system of loans ended in March 1984 when the Agricultural Bank was replaced by the Tasmanian Development Authority.

These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives
