How to Use:
The first seven registers are indexed at the back of each volume by plaintiff with their relevant page number in the register. Registers eight to sixteen are indexed by both plaintiff and defendant with their relevant case number.
Series notes:
The registers contain the case number, plaintiff, defendant, proceedings taken, documents filed and when, solicitors for plaintiff and defendant (in the first sixteen registers only), judgement and a remarks column. However, entries for each case do not necessarily contain all these details.
The first sixteen registers also contain an index at the back of the volume which lists the plaintiff and corresponding defendants' names.
The Civil Procedure Act became effective 1 Jan 1934; (TGG 26 Sep 1933 p.1757). However, there are no case documents surviving until 1939.
