Series notes:
This series comprises a sample of records that have been destroyed which shows the administrative process under the various pieces of legislation controlling the placement of children in Foster Homes and Nursing Homes. Children were placed temporarily for a variety of reasons and if there was further intervention by the state then separate files were created and may be found in related welfare series. The file numbering prefix ILP is derived from the initial legislation, Infant Life Protection Act 1907.
