Description:
Murray High School was located in Queenstown on the West Coast of Tasmania. It was established in 1959, after the closure of the Queenstown Technical High School and School of Mines. It was officially named R.M Murray High School after Russell Mervyn Murray, who had been a prominent resident of Queenstown, and the General Manager of Mt Lyell Mining and Railway Company for over twenty years. Murray High School was closed at the end of 1999, and was suceeded by Mountain Heights School, which catered for Primary and Secondary students.
