Description:
Provision of education and school facilities. Shannon is in the central highlands. The first school was a room of a house. The second school was built by the HEC men at Shannon from used timber. A third school was built when the children from Hilltop joined the school. When the school closed in 1952 the 8 children were transported to Waddamana by the HEC Land Rover.
