Description:
Provision of education and school facilities. The Trinity Hill State School opened in 1883 as the first government school established in Hobart. It was located between Warwick and High Streets, and Church and Elizabeth Streets. The building still stands in the middle of the block. Due to too many students attending Trinity Hill State School a new school was built across the road, Elizabeth Street Practising School, which is now Elizabeth College. The transfer from the old Trinity school to the new Elizabeth Street school began in 1917.
